Ayurvedic Consultations

Ayurveda is a sophisticated practice that recognizes the need for wellness across the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual planes since it's origin. For thousands of years, this system has gently nurtured millions into peak health and optimal heart-mind + spiritual states in India and other countries. During my Ayurvedic and Yoga studies at the Arsha Yoga Vidya Peetam Trust in Coimbatore, India I was struck by the simplicity and effectiveness of these two highly related systems. 

Most people in the west are unaware that Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences. A Yogi in the States that is well versed in Yoga but not exposed to Ayurveda is not making the most of the interconnections between them. For example an Ayurvedic practitioner is as likely to give diet and lifestyle related advice while also suggesting a regular practice of Pranayama techniques.  

So what should you expect from an Ayurvedic consultation with me?

The first meeting (which can be virtual too) can last up to an hour and a half. Ayurveda stresses on a multi-verse approach to identifying your innate (natural) state and it's likely deviation to it's current state. These are named Prakruti and Vikruti respectively in Sanskrit. This deviation, which is natural in most of us can be caused by a number or reasons, e.g. the environment, work-stress, sudden changes in our life-states, lifestyle changes etc. This deviation invariably leads to a disharmony in us, one that strains our connection with nature and it's biorhythms and results in symptoms like sleep disorders, anxiety, appetite changes etc. My Ayurvedic consultation will focus on helping you find your natural state (Prakruti) again so that you are in harmony within yourself and therefore with everything around you. One of the first discoveries we will work towards is to find your "Dosha" and this is arrived at through dialogue. Questions around your bodily functions including digestion, bathroom routines, the way you sleep etc are super critical for this evaluation. 

My consultation report will prescribe recommendations on lifestyle, dietary as well as exercise related routines that will gently and naturally help you regain your optimal wellness state. Having successfully incorporated many of these changes into my diet, lifestyle, etc I can confidently tell you that you will be able to successfully do the same. And with results that stick, and make you feel happy and fulfilled.
